Mattress Topper - Feather or Manmade?

I know there are many threads relating to mattress toppers, but I haven't been able to find an answer to my question anywhere.

I am considering buying a mattress topper purely for the warmth/'snuggle' factor, to put on a brand new mattress. Assuming that feather or feather & down would be warmer, I have been searching around for a good deal on a good quality one, but so many reviews mention feathers poking through the cover; I am coming round to the idea of buying one filled with 'fibre'.

Can anybody give their opinion based on personal experience as to whether a fibre-filled one would be as soft and comfortable as a feather-filled?

Oh, and can I use an electric blanket on top of a mattress topper? (Yes, I do feel the cold)!

Thanks, I'll ask them about the electric blanket. I had found that site which has a lot of useful information, but I really want to hear from somebody who has hopefully used both feather and fibre toppers and get their opinion on which they preferred, and why.

qvc do feather toppers(Northern Nights range) plus u could try if no good for you, return it.
