Super to see all these posts about budding musicians taking up a whole range of instruments at all ages. Just goes to prove you are never too old to start (for info I took up fiddle lessons 2 years ago at the age of 36 and loving it. It has inspired me to return to piano lessons too after a 20 year break.)
To all the musicians on this thread I hope you all enjoy your music.0 -
I play piano but can't read a note unfortunately! My passion is studio production which I've been trying to master forever, determined to produce one big hit in my life, but the competition is vast, but it does not deter me.0

Recently booked a couple of sax lessons, just out of curiosity, really. Just one of those things I'd like to try.0

No such thing. I started learning the banjo in my 50s and the fiddle at 62. I`m having a great time. It`s opened up a whole new world. Go for it.0

I want to learn to play the ukele and I'm 54.
Just hoping all the hints I'm putting out for a Christmas present will come to fruition. If not I'll just have to buy my own.........

I'm never played any type of musical instrument but often wished i could, now at 59 i bought myself a Ukulele. Up to now i've only tried to learn by watching YouTube vids, i've not practised as much as i should other jobs around the house and garden always seem more important. But last week i sent away for 'Ukuleles for Dummies' which has excellent reviews and i'm determined to find a bit of time each day.I want to learn to play the ukele and I'm 54.

1. go for it.
2. change the strings.
3. find a local group (there are LOTS in pubs across the nation)
4. go for it.
NB 'going for it' basically means turn up to a group, even if you've never played so much as a C and have a bash.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
I fancy learning the electric bass guitar I've just hit the big 70 is it worth starting? I just love the sound.
my grandson plays electric guitar and I would love to have a jam with him.
what should I look out for when buying a second hand one and what sort of money should I pay?
thanks0
