I am about to start to try and claim charges back from my bank and credittors. I am with Alliance and Leicester at present and would like to move to a new bank before starting. Any suggestions who i could go to. I've already been turned down for a "normal" account.

Thanks for the reply. Natwest is one of my credittors. I would rather steer clear of my credittos so tht would rule out Natwest, Alliance and Leicester, Firs Direct (HSBC), Egg, and thats about it i think.Bank charge Victories 07:MBNA:£205.77.Natwest Credit Card:£250.A&L Bank:£549.68.First Direct:£1183.50.Natwest:£112.33+£200 compo.Marbles CC:£298.Providian CC:£181.Capitol One CC:£388.46.PPI requests:A&L credit card/First Direct loan: At Court stage.Marbles CC:£213.02 refunded.GE Money:£562.34 refunded.First Direct credit card:£747.83 refunded.0

I have a halifax easycash account I've had it for just over a year now and I've had no problems it fact it's brilliant. You don't get an overdraft or cheque book, (which was perfect for me) but in February they are issueing electron cards. You also have online banking which I find is a God send.
You'll need to go into a branch to pick up an application form or you can call them and they will post it out to you.
Hope this helps and good luck.0 -

Halifax easycash has been brilliant thus far for me. Most basic accounts take slightly longer to open as you have to send the application off, but its worth it. As another poster has said you get a visa electron card with this account, which is very handy for bill paying online. Hope you find one that suits you. Good Luck0

If you open up a CitiBank account via Quidco you will get a £50 referral fee.
On top of that it is a fully fledged current account.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
