DMP advise please

I applied for a DMP with Gregory Pennington they seem very good and kind. but after getting the forms back this week and reading some reviews online i have decided to apply with cccs awaiting forms now.

Anyways to the point

At the moment i live at my parents house and have debt of about 8k.
Credit card,store card,catalog, and 2 loans.

I need to do a DMP. because im moving in with my partner and cant afford my bill's and the rent and household bills.

I know this will give me a bad credit rating and to be honest i don't mind because at least i cant do no more! But will this give my parents house a bad credit rating? because they both work and i wouldn't want to mess up something they haven't.

Many thanks

    Hi

Your parents credit ratings won't be affected. Credit ratings are for people not addresses so as long as you are not financially connected with your parents (eg a joint bank account or joint loan or mortgage) then you being on a DMP won't affect them.
Don't get a joint account with partner whilst you are still on your DMP, otherwise you would affect them, so keep your finances seperate.

Glad to read you are going with cccs not GP. Good choice.

    Hi batty1dog

CCCS are a charity that will offer free impartial advice and if a DMP is right for you will run it for free. Unlike GP who will charge fees. Have a look here for CCCS contact numbers and other charities IMPORTANT - Where to seek professional impartial advice about your debts.
