I got these in Lancaster branch and they scanned through at 68p and 52p so might be worth checking for a better bargain.

Excellent - thank you. I have used the boots tropical while camping this year and it did the job perfectly. Just ordered some more to put away for next year.

  • Does anyone know if this would be strong enough to deter the mozzies in the caribean?

Part of the Furniture 500 Posts Name Dropper Combo Breaker
Appears to be two versions the higher priced brown pack contains 50% DEET, this should be strong enough for most locations

Should maybe do a little research though, some sources do mention possible health hazards

    Also Wikepedia states

DEET is an effective solvent,[4] and may dissolve some plastics, rayon, spandex, other synthetic fabrics, leather, and painted or varnished surfaces including nailpolish

My wife can confirm it removes nailvarnish, it once damaged a walkman of mine that was silver, removed the silver and left the grey plastic underneath. So be careful around cameras, ipods, phones etc

    Thanks to OP
  • thanks jst ordered 2 xx
  • i got 1 today in store, scanned at £2.75 but got it anyway as will need it for december
  • Thanks op I ordered a couple.

I agree with a current further up about it stripping nail varnish. Whenever we go to Jamaica or St Lucia I hate it because I can't wear nail varnish in the evenings.
  • Thank you very much for this OP. I was waiting until they came down in price and now they have.
  • Many thanks, ordered 4, its all good.
