want to borrow some money on remortgage

Hi Guys

Im going to be remortgaging shortly and wanted to borrow £6000 extra to do my house up a little.
The mortgage is from santander.
The house was worth £190000 when i bought it about 4 years ago and the current balance of the mortgage is £131000.
Do you think Santander will let me add the £6000 to the mortgage thus briniging the LTV to 72% (if i did my sums right!)?

Thanks!

Mo

Should be ok at circa 72% LTV (subject to the property valuing up and you meeting lender status checks again).

Give them a quick call to discuss the available options to you, and what fees may be charged.

As holly hobby says, be careful about what it will be valued at (as opposed to what you think it's worth) now. You don't want to go to all the expense of mortgage application if it falls foul of a 75% LTV - assuming the product you want has a 75% threshold.
