Asus OR MacBook PRO

Hi there guys basically i have two laptops in mind and i wanted to see which one of these two laptops you would recommend me to buy.

I will mainly use the computer for general word processing and database as well as internet surfing. The game or too not too graphic intensive i.e football manager or half life maybe. I i'am looking to spend about 1350 pounds tops and i have never owned a mac but i have heard good things about them and they look impressive as well as the asus g1 which also looks very impressive.
Any help on choosing would be great thanks alot guys.
P.S i forgot to mention this laptop aswell it's the toshiba qosmio so any choice on which one would be better out of the 3 thanks for the help
