Don't normally get excited about such things, but as I need a new one I thought I'd mention these as spotted a stack this evening as I walked out of my local co-op. £12 is ideal. It comes with a 5 year guarantee, and a cover described as "vaporglide".
Not tried it out yet, and don't expect a road test report unless it proves useless.

Does it have the iron rest you can use with a steam generator iron (ie a bigger one than normal?)
I bought a Vileda one from Tesco just before Christmas and I was £29.99. Will be most miffed if this is the same lol.0 -
Hi JackieB, it does have an iron rest, but I'm not such an expert to say whether or not it is bigger than normal. The rest features 4 plastic round pieces, 2 on each side, so that the sole plate of your iron doesn't get scratched on the metal part of the rest. So maybe this is the same as yours?
The board is made from a mesh material (apparently better for steam irons according to the blurb that came with it). It does mean the board is considerably lighter than my old one, but the very solid still. The height adjustable mechanism is easy to use and very secure too.0 -
Great, I've been after a present for the wife's birthday. This will be perfect0

Picked this up last week.
It's a standard size board and rest, so may not fit the generator irons (never seen one in the flesh though so not 100% sure).
Hubby does the ironingand says it's much better than the £30 Minky one it's replacing - better fold mechanism (which includes a lock to hold it closed, and 'anyway up' standing), sturdier feel, smooth glide and generally nicer to use.
The one drawback he did notice is that if you are in the habit of sitting the iron on the board rather than the rest (as he sometimes does) there is a rubberised transfer at one end of the cover which could cause problems if you forgot about it.
Overall though a brilliant buyDFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0 -
I bought this from co-op around August time and it was £14.99 so this is an even better price. Nice ironing board too :-)0

Which stores have you managed to find these in?0

Mine was in my local store - it's not a big one - the non food section is about the size of a large living room, lolDFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0

that is one thing i hate about my minky! it bloody opens up when your trying to put it away!!! thanks for this. will try and hunt one of these boards.0 -
I saw these at our Co-op yesterday. Where they're not the exact same as the one I bought in Tesco for £29.99 just before Christmas, they're not that disimilar. If it's anything like mine the legs are pretty sturdy and it would be a great buy.0
