Hi All .my mother-in-law who lives alone fainted/fell the other evening I was wondering if anyone has knowledge/advice on getting an alarm that she can carry with her and if anything happens she can push a button which in turn contacts me or another member of the family.

The best and most affordable schemes are usually run by the local authority and connect directly to a local authority 24-hour answering centre. As well as phoning neighbours etc some authorities have mobile emergency care responders.
A Free Priority Fault Repair Service is available on telephone lines of chronically sick and severely disabled customers registered with the Local Authority. Customers with a long-term illness or disability whose telephone is vital in an emergency may also be eligible but registration is required. Free Priority Fault Repair operates 24 hours a day. BT will aim to fix a fault within 6 hours of it being reported to us.BT TermsA kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
