90% Mortgage with 5% from Builder

Which lenders (if any?!) will provide a 90% LTV new build house mortgage and take 5% from a builder and 5% from me?

  • 5% gifted deposit? I thought the last lender to accept GD's stopped accepting them recently.

  • In effect yes, the builder will match any deposit that we could manage, i.e. £10k on a £200k would mean we/bank receives another £10k to get the 90% LTV.

Vendor deposits were stopped. Builders deposits are still ok with some lenders.

Do you know which lenders these are?
  • Abbey Accepted a 5% builders deposit on our mortgage but we were putting in 15% to make it a 80% LTV. I believe Halifax also accept them as we only had the choice between the Halifax or Abbey for a 80% LTV Mortgage on a New Build.

Is it a flat or a house? Are you first time buyers?

No we are home movers, it is a house, priced reasonably well. Been looking at a number of options included shard equity 85/15% split but just exploring if this type of mortgage is available!
