Yes and no.
First and foremost, you must speak directly to your local council. Different councils operate differently.
But, they will probably tell you that as it was a repossession, then you made yourself intentionally homeless and they do not have a duty to help. But if you have children then they do have a duty. BUT you will find yourself in hostel/B&B type accomodation for a long time if they do agree to help.
With regards to information, again it depends what they want on the form. They will want full details as to why you are homeless.
Also speak to the CAB. You will get lots of sense out of them, but there may be a delay in getting an appointment.0 -
Ive just answered this in your other thread. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I'm not sure if it varies betwen local authorites or whether things have changed in the past 14 years but this is what i had to do when i was made homeless in 1991, i went to the town hall on the day i became homeless i waited all day and was placed into temporary accomodation that night I lived there for 11months until i was housed with a housing association.
It was'nt an easy time but needs must and i had no other options, I hope you and your family get sorted why don't you ring your council and explain your situation so your fully informed.
