Benefit 'they're real' mascara

In Debenhams today they had a big push on this mascara. I dont really wear makeup and didnt want to try it but wondered about getting some for my daughter who at thirty, has just had make up lessons and is getting quite good at eye make up

How have people found it?

  • I've seen some good reviews on this but not tried it myself.
  • I have it, I got it the day it was launched. I actually tried it at a consultation a week before it was even available and fell in love with it. I'm always looking for that 'false lash' mascara and although they always seem to make this claim, none of them I've tried ever come close. This one does however, it's amazing. My lashes look really long and thick with only one coat. My friend, another mascara addict, got it the same day as me. Probably the best mascara I've tried yet.

Do you mean that they look false or that they are as good as false in the extra length etc that they give?

Can you get it cheaper anyway or is it a standard price being new?
  • I LOVE faux lash mascarra by YSL however at £24.00 a tube its expensive and dries out within about 4 weeks, however the finish effect is amazing! x

For the price of it, I'd go with Mac Haute & Naughty Lash. It's the best mascara I've ever tried and actually lasts the 3 months shelf life without drying out. Plus you have the choice of the 2 brushes, so you have natural for during the day or the false lash effect for night time.
The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.

Well they look more like false lashes than any other mascara that claims to give that false lash effect. Debenhams were doing 10% off health and beauty this week, it might still be online. Also although I don't think boots stores stock benefit anymore they sometimes have the mascaras. They had the bad gal mascara. So if you have boots advantage points it might be cheaper. Just don't be tempted by cheap prices on eBay, it will be fake.

I got talked into buying this in Debs as they were doing a 'spend £40 get 1000 bonus beauty points' so I bought this as well as some lemon aid which I love for dark circles!

I usually use the YSL flash lash mascara and to be honest, didn't see a lot of difference between the two, which I guess is a good thing, as instead of spending £24 on YSL, I can save myself £6 or so!!!

    It is really, really good!

What is the lemon aid please? I have atrocious dark circles and most of the things I have tried just make them more obvious since I wear very little make up - I have nice skin apart from my hereditary dark circles which are the worst I have ever seen apart from one dear friend who has them due to very poor health

It's a concealer basically with some very mixed reviews. Watch some youtube reviews/tutorials or read dome blog posts about it. I'm not a fan of benefit products the oackaging looks awfully cheap for the price and overall I haven't been that impressed, especially when there are some fantastic highstreet dupes at more reasonable prices.
