Hi,
I posted something earlier and while waiting for a response I have been thinking. Can I fundraise and put the money towards paying for debts, like I will swim 35 miles or something? Would it work?
Thanks

I doubt that would work. For starers you would need to give full disclosure about what you are fudraising for and not many people would want to sponsor you unless they knew the money was going to charity.0

Unfortunately, that would be fraud...nice try though. I wouldnt mind giving money to the RSPCA or RNLI some other equally worthy cause, but giving my money to you to help you clear your debts...? Think about it. Would you?
You could however take on extra jobs...slinging burgers in Big Macs doesnt require a degree, judging by most of the staff, it doesnt appear to require sentience even and will get you more than £200 a month easily. There are night shifts in factories which are always relatively lucrative (you dont have to work hard and you get better pay than day shift). You dont have to do it for ever...just until you're clear. I used to carry a picture of my kids when I worked in factories...to remind me why I was doing it and why it wasnt a good idea to deck the charge hand for being a !!!!.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

Well if you are upfront about it and what the money is going towards, then it's not an ethical issue, but as FireWyrm says, most people are not going to give unless you can come up with an interesting slant as to why they should ( in which case you should be able to get a job as a spin doctor;)).
As an aside, I know someone who went for a job at McDs. They had to give a 5 minute talk on an everyday job! What that has to do with the ability to smile whilst saying would you like fries with that, I have no idea!0 -
Hello,
I agree with all of the above, and just wanted to add that sponsorship is one of the most time consuming ways to raise money even for the most worthwhile causes. Why not offer yourself up as an odd job man to those folk who may have sponsored you instead?
I'm amazed by the notions we all have when trying to scrabble about for extra pennies, I have certainly had a few! Good luck with figuring out where your extra funds may come from. I'm sure all the folks here will help you work it out,
