I'm assuming it is the same UK wide, in Scotland there are a million and one companies offering free advice on mortgages and they don't take a fee themselves but get a comission from the lender when it goes through. I spoke to 3 different companies on more than one occasion and they were all very helpful and it cost me absolutely nothing. I ended up going with First Mortgage. Try a google search0
