Has anyone got any experience of this product to help with heavy periods?

Boots appear to be the only place licenced to sell it as this, although I am sure it could be got on prescription too.

Hi,
these work well for me and I get them on prescription. My G.P prescribes 84 500mg tabs on 1 prescription. So to buy them over the counter is much more expensive. I usually take 3 per day for around 5 days to get the desired result. HTH.

I will give them a go buying OTC and if they work see my GP.

Cyclo-F is only available in Boots, but Femstrual is available from all other pharmacies and contains the same ingredient - may be cheaper?

Just make sure that you read the leaflet that comes with it if you go and buy it direct from a pharmacist (whether you buy Boots Cyclo-F, or any other product such as Femstrual). The active product is tranexamic acid and was only taken to pharmacy status rather than prescription only in March this year. There are certain conditions with which you should either not take it, or need to exercise some caution, so do check the leaflet and speak to a pharmacist if you fall into any of those categories
