Good luck getting into one of the pools at any sort of convenient time.... considering there are 3 pools in the area, they always seem to be booked for lessons of some form or other.

Not for long! The council are closing all three to build a super sized leisure centre in the middle of "Craigavon City" or no man's land, that'll be really handy for cash strapped families or those who don't own a car and live in Portadown or Lurgan, won't it?A needless, wasteful, inconvenient, meddlesome waste of money vanity project.

As councils all over Britain are making cuts and tightening their belts I'd like to know where the hell are Craigavon Borough Council getting the cash for this unwanted monstrosity from? And this is after them splurging millions recently on the town centre refurbishment which worsened it and did terrible harm to local businesses.

The profligacy and social vandalism of CBC is truly shocking.Does it matter who we vote in,would it make any difference? That I continue to vote in local elections has been a triumph of hope over experience but I don't think I can do it anymore.Saddened.

P.S. No offence meant Warmhands on my reference to Craigavon and you do refer to it yourself as the "Lost City".It's very existence is testament to the vain social engineering and wastefulness of the council.I remember the ghost estates of the 1970's having to be demolished and while it has improved somewhat in recent years it will always have the hollow, unreal feel of a planned town rather than a naturally occurring one.

I always refer to Craigavon as roundabout city .
Roundabout here ,roundabout there and in the middle a bigger roundabout:rotfl:.Craigavon hasn't even got a flippin bank and any dreams off it being a city are long gone . Craigavon council had two town halls (Lurgan and Portadown ) but still they built a Civic Center ,so it wont be a surprise when they replace the 3 leisure facilities ,and yes the new refurbishment off Lurgan and Portadown was a C0ck up .
