Argh ! Rates just gone up and need to get an AIP for fixed rate pronto !

Hi All,

We are looking to move house in the next few months, and I would like to get an AIP. Facts are that, we want to borrow £210,000 and have £40,000 deposit. Combined salaries are £64,000.

I would like a fixed rate mortgage (at least for 5 years) - I;ve checked moneysupermarket, but wondered if anyone had any gems that they had come across recently.

I would probably want to get this sorted this week to be honest as I may be able to get in before lenders increase the rates....?

You can get an AIP any time but it will not secure the rate. You would have to formally apply for a mortgage and pay the booking/admin fee. However without a property to buy/offered on its not going to work.

Going by what you said should not be a problem money wise as long as your credit records are clean, you do not have any other debts etc. You just need to find a property now.

Dont just use Moneysupermarket. It is a lead generating company who sell your details on to a broker near you. Also they only offer deals of lenders they work with. They are not "whole of market".

If you want the best deals suitable for you, then you need to find a broker near you.

That's great advice, thanks very much. I'll call London & Country because they are actually pretty local to me (Bath vs Bristol)
