Hi :hello:
As you know I've had some health problems (depression / anxiety / stress) and obviously whilst I've been working under these restrictions my attendance at work has been poor (admittedly through no fault of my own, it just gets me this way) and I'm beginning to rapidly lose interest with everything in life, my condition really holds me back and I'm just getting to my wits end.
Obviously I'm only doing 3 nights at ASDA and I want to ensure that my health comes first, so if anything happens again (god forbid) I have some sort of setback my money is sorted out so I know that things can be paid.
I have a couple of queries which are what does CCCS entail / Payplan? Does it affect my credit rating, whats the basic idea of it?

Hi there, both CCCS and Payplan are long standing reputable licenced companies who can offer you good practical free advice.
CCCS - www.cccs.co.uk
Payplan - www.payplan.co.uk
There are also a number of other places you can get free advice including:
National Debt Line - https://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk
Citizens Advice Bureaux - please make sure you book your appointment with the specialist money advisor as many of the volunteers don’t have the necessary experience and knowledge:

Its the not being able to keep up with your repayments that affect your credit rating - this is generally by creditors registering defaults on your file which remains there for 6 years from when it was first registered.
Initially companies such as the ones you mention will have a chat with you to desern your situation in order to find out what is the best solution for you.
They then inform you of what options are available and then its up to you to decide which one is right for you.
Debt Management plans with these companies cost you nothing - they deal with your creditors on your behalf and negotiate repayments. You just pay in what available money you have, which is worked out with either of these companies, and they distribute the whole of that amount to your creditors.
IVAs and Bankruptcy are other options that will be explained to you during the time when you chat with them.
If you find it too much to deal with things on your own, then both of these companies are well worth contacting, as well as National Debtline or the CAB.Debt is not the be all and end all. There is always a solution!0 -

Thanks!!! Could you link me to it?
Spoke to CCCS and we adjusted some of my figures in my budget thing, then I got my personal debt remedy thing emailed to me, had a look and it says this:
"Until you have improved your situation, we are unable to
provide you with a solution to your debt problem, because
you have no money available to repay your debts"
They then go onto suggest different ways of gaining extra money, now overtime is something that yes I could well do in the future, but not at the minute, hence my problem with money.
I dont know what to do, I wasnt expecting CCCS to wave a magic wand at all but I really have no idea where to go from here. 0 -
The CCCS can't do anything you can't do yourself. I have handled my own debt for the last three years and sometimes it does feel a little like an uphill struggle, but i manage. You need to talk to your credittors, then see if they can offer you a reduced payment plan. Most of them will and even if they can't (first direct stated hey couldn't reduce my loan paymnts from £213 to the £60 i stated i could pay), however they advised it would be sent to one of their collection agencies who did indeed accept this amnt. £60 a month is now coming off the debt and no interest or charges are being accrued. I know it sounds easier said than done, but they can't take what you don't have so be honest with them and tell them a realistic figure that you can afford. If your a bit overwhelmed by putting an Income and Expenditure together yourself, use the one from the CCCS. That way, you have a template that you can use to see what you can actually afford.
Remember to offer them a pro rata amoun. IE, a larger credittor gets a lrger amount of your money than a smaller credittor, that way its fair for you and them.Bank charge Victories 07:MBNA:£205.77.Natwest Credit Card:£250.A&L Bank:£549.68.First Direct:£1183.50.Natwest:£112.33+£200 compo.Marbles CC:£298.Providian CC:£181.Capitol One CC:£388.46.PPI requests:A&L credit card/First Direct loan: At Court stage.Marbles CC:£213.02 refunded.GE Money:£562.34 refunded.First Direct credit card:£747.83 refunded.0 -

I would imagine that the reason that CCCS might have turned you down for a DMP is because they seem to have a rule that you have to be able to pay a minimum amount per month per creditor to go into a DMP with them.
Payplan have a minimum monthly payment thing as well, but it might be set up slightly differently.
Your options might be to go it alone on a self administered DMP (which is do-able, but you might want to think about whether or not you feel strong enough to do it just now - remember that you have us for support!) or perhaps approaching CAB for advice and support.0
