Hi, I need help. I bought a ring for my gf from Swarovski in Dec 05. One of the crystals fell out in march, had it repaired, got it back, same thing happend may, then again in August. We changed the ring for a complety different ring in July and again one of the stones fell out Christmas day.
The problem i have is that for all the hassel i would like a refund but Swarovski are just repairing it. I DONT WANT THIS, I WANT MY MONEY BACK
Someone please help !

I don't think they're obliged to refund, as long as they can give you a reasonable fix for the problem - they seem to be doing it, albeit a bit laboriously!0

You could try appealing to them - maybe write to head office.
Unfortunately I think they are entitled to repair the item and don't have to give you a refund.0 -
            Hi,
My wife had a similar problem with engagment ring a few years ago (different jewller though).
Anyway, we ended up taking the ring to a small independent jewller who was willing to inspect and write up a report about the quality of the workmanship (being poor).
Provided a copy to the companies Head Office and got refund for repairs, plus a little extra for inconvenience.
Anyway, thought I'd share, might be of some help ?

I think they can offer a repair first, but from what you've said they have done that and it still isn't right. Three times is ridiculous, and shows that there is something wrong. I think you are well within your rights to ask for your money back, and you should insist on it no matter what they say.
Head office may be of use.0 -
Update. After 30 mins on the phone yesterday, they have already gone ahead with the repair, i have instisted on a refund and there not budging. They have said that if it happens again then they can re-address the situation. I asked her about all the telephone calls I have made ( they couldnt be botherd to call me back), car parking ( iv had to drive to there store to pick up ring) petrol ( put in my car to drive to there store) and just genral hassel. Didnt even bother reply !
The fact that i could have been a complete and utter t***er on the phone and in there stores, but i havent, i have done everything by there t&c and as a customer im nowhere near happy

I know people on this board are forever rejecting cars which keep breaking down, but can't remember what the legal phrase is. Have a look on the autos board and see if you can find it!
However, I do know that goods have to be fit for purpose (not sure if a ring is considered to have a 'purpose' but surely you should be able to wear it for a reaonsable amount of time.....) - if you Google 'not fit for purpose' you get to this link (not sure if this link will work as it is direct to a Word document) - looks like a useful start.
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0
