Here's an interesting article on Investors Chronicle. Nothing we didn't already know, but some interesting comments.

I'm looking at moving a trail-encumbered pension some time in the next few months, but I'm not sure that giving up the teeny shred of servicing I'm getting to only get 80% of the trail commission will be part of my plan!

I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.

Like the other thread on this subject, I dont see the point. If you dont want trail to pay, then use a contract/service where no trail is charged. (Cavendish comes to mind). Post RDR trail wont exist anyway so its better to pay zero than 20% to a firm that does nothing for it (and has a premium rate telephone number).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0
