Panasonic Breadmaker SD253

Hello
I have just been in John Lewis and they have the Panasonic Breadmaker SD253 in there for £79.95. I got one and they had some left. (Milton Keynes Branch).
The lady in there said it was being 'undersold' with £20 off at the moment, but there wasn't a shelf edge saying 'sale'. Also the previous model 252 without seed dispenser was the same price. I know they are on Amazon for £77.71 but thought at least I could take it away with me and not have to wait for delivery etc.
I suppose this must be a nationwide price for John Lewis. Not sure how long it will be this price for.

£74.95 at appliance-direct.co.uk
Picked one up in their shop in Derby just before Christmas.
Makes it more expensive if you add delivery but great if can collect!0 -
This a good breadmaker too - I've had one for a couple of years now and use it most days. It's more versatile than most machines and, of course, makes lovely bread and pizza dough.0

We are on our second Panasonic breadmaker in 10 years - and we use it virtually every day/night + extra for pizza dough etc. every now and then. I can't praise them highly enough - so much better than those cheapo super-fast ones that make a few rubbish loaves and then give up the ghost.
Our first one cost £199 from John Lewis - 10 years ago - it was a wedding gift from my American sister-in law. They were all the rave in the US at the time, but quite a rarity over here and it took her a while to track one down for us when she came over for our wedding. I can't believe how much they have come down in price over the years.0 -
Panasonic breadmakers are great bits of kit - well worth the money - even at the full rrp0

Quite agree. I cringe when I hear others saying they paid less for their cheapie breadmaker, but think the bread is rubbish as it puts people off buying breadmakers like this good one!.0 -
Made my first loaf today in it. I can't believe how easy it is to use. I used the basic loaf program as set by the factory, so only had to put the ingredients in and press start. The only thing is that we have eaten most of it!
I am so pleased to have it. I agonised for ages because of the cost but don't regret it now.A penny saved is one you don't have to earn! :wave:0
