mortgage and renting house out

Hello,
This maybe a silly question... but I am sure lots of people do this. We have had our current tracker mortgage for 6 years, which we are very happy with. We are contemplating moving abroad for a year, in this time we would like to rent our house out. I have a question regarding our mortgage, if we rent the house out, will our mortgage provider potentially have a problem with this as it is not a buy-to-let mortgage?

First thing to do is ask your lender for 'Consent to Let'
You would also need landlord's insurance.
