Thursday 8th Sept - What small DFW things will you be doing today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Goooood morning everyone....woop wooop, the weekend is in sight:T:T
I have a full days work today (didn't start til 11 yesterday:D) - so must get my backside in gear. Nothing out of the ordinary going on here - work, home, cook dinner, lie on sofa then bed....just a normal day here;)
So - better get my face on so as not to scare anyone:)
Here's my list:
  • check banking - Yay for tax credits day.
  • Move money about - some to grocery account, some to spends account
  • meal from plan tonight - jacket pots and chicken
  • dry washing off airer and up to airing cupboard
  • put water heating off (just on for half an hour this morning)
  • check ebay listings - and watch the ones that end tonight
  • packed lunch for dd2, roll out of freezer defrosting for my lunch
  • NSD hopefully
Ok, that's my lot:p
Have a fab day everyone - hope you're all well and cheery:beer:
I really need to sort out a new signature!

Thanks Pixie for starting the thread, have a good day at work!

    My things for today:

    • Check banking - done, all as expected, moved Lendwithcare.org payment back into savings
    • Volunteer job starts again today after the summer so need to get biscuits/fruit etc for the mums and tots, remember to keep receipt and transfer details to expense form
    • Drop new Avon brochures through doors and deliver letters re: previous sales
    • Check progress of balance transfer - not happened yet at Barclaycard end even though showing at Halifax end
    • Count change jar to see if ready to put in bank (I don't think it is)
    • Go through DS's clothes to see if anything still has labels on that he's grown out of and try to return to Tesco if so
    • Free tea at Costa using voucher while giving DS his lunch
    • Breakfast (egg muffins), lunch (pasta) and dinner (risotto) from stores and meal plan
    • Need to buy milk and tinned spinach from Mr Ts, nothing else unless any 22p wholemeal pasta has appeared.
I think that's everything. Have great days everyone! xx

Edit - have a great holiday DNM!

    Morning all,
Thanks for starting the thread Pixie.

My poor little dog had most of her remaining teeth out yesterday, and was very sorry for herself last night :( However, she ate both her own and the other dog's breakfast this morning so is obviously on her way to recovery. A bit wobbly on her legs still though - she is nearly 14, so might take a bit longer to get over it.

    Today:

    Check banking (done)

meals from stores including lunch for work

washing on line to dry (hopefully)

Spend very little after yesterday's spendfest (vet bill, car parking, petrol ) but I do need hay fever tablets, loo rolls, kitchen rolls and tissues, the last 3 of which I inexplicably forgot when I went to A!dis yesterday :o

Freeze some more runner beans this evening, and do something with a load of pears that OH appeared with the other day - they aren't that nice just to eat as they are. Maybe a crumble?

Ironing, I guess , as I am running out of tops.

Oh, and work of course :p

Hope everybody has a good day.
  • DNMS - where are you going on holiday?? I'm sure I know...but my poor brain can't recall it:rotfl:
