Capital

I have capital of £11,000. This has affected my housing/council tax benefit which i was expecting. I heard that it is something like £1 deducted per week for every £500 capital you have. I am i right in saying that your allowed £6000 before deductions apply.
If this is right then i should be expecting £10 deductions per week but my statement is showing £21 class as capital income.
Is this right?

I think its £1 deducted for every £250 over the threshold of £6000.

Please check into the site www,entitledto.co.uk as it is Council Tax benefit you are applying for. Sometimes joint capital of £16000 is allowed.
Good Luck, don't forget to check with your local CAB too.Today, my BEST is good enough.0
