Return to tescos without a receipt

Hi. I am wondering if anyone can help me.

I bought a tefal toaster the other day from tescos. I am wanting to return it, however I cannot find my receipt anywhere :-( It has not been used or even opened.

I am not sure if I used cash or debit card to pay, but on my bank statement I have numerous transactions from tescos - I am unsure if one of these is the toaster.

If I show them my bank statement, can they trace the transaction to give me a refund or is there any other way I can go about this.

Many thanks in advance.

  • Did you use your clubcard? If you did they can trace the purchase through that.
A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.
  • I am not sure if I did, but I will go instore and ask.

Is there any other way in case I didn't do you think???

Many thanks for your reply :-)

I had a faulty toaster to return to Tesco without the receipt, I only wanted to exchange it and they said they couldn't but if I had a bank statement they would if that helps?

However rather than look back a few months on my statements (it was 3 months old) I just bought an identical toaster and took the faulty one back with the new receipt for a refund.

Clucard are not able to know what you bought, and are not able to reprint any 'lost' receipts.
All they can do, is give you a date and a time, when you spent 'X' amount - which may have included that item. Armed with that info the store may be able to back-track to the receipt details.

  • Just to let you know, I went back today and with my club card number, an estimate time, and details of what else I bought they managed to get my receipt up. Enabling me to return it.

Many many thanks for your help!!! X
