Debt Management & Pregnancy help

Hi

I am new to this forum so hopefully this works.

I entered into a debt management plan with Payplan April 2006 and I have been paying £446.21 per month off my debt since then. (I now owe about £26,000)

However, I have just found out (to my surprise)that I am pregnant and the baby will be due in July/August. I will be cutting my hours of work down after the birth and wondered if anyone has any experience with payplan with regards to revised payments. I will be taking home about £350 a month less plus have the added expense of baby costs. I will probably just about be able to afford £200 at a push. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Littlemee x

Hi there littlemee, welcome to DFW :hello:

I think the best thing to do is phone Payplan at the earliest opportunity and explain your changing circumstances to them, they will then be prepared for when your income drops. The good thing about a DMP is it isn't legally binding and is flexible to a point, therefore if things change, your payments can change accordingly.
Although I have no experience of doing this, when we started our DMP with Payplan,we asked what would happen if our income went up/down,this was what they told us.
Congratulations on your pregnancy, try not to get stressed! :D

    Just to say "Congratulations".

Maybe just try giving Payplan a call and advise them of the changes, they will probably just reduce the payments but I'm no expert!!! Though I do think that they are prepared for changes in peoples income - after all, all sorts of things happen to different people don't they?
