• Oh wow thank you got my free sample by getting a text sent to me (am thinking I can probably show this again if I get to another lancome counter over the weekend).
Additional freebie was the amazing feeling I got when the girl asked me was I worried about skin ageing and I said hell yes I am 47 she was totally shocked and told me I had great skin called her colleague over too who both agreed I didn't look it. Bonus freebie confidence up a few notches :)
• Got this today - didn't need to show my text to get the sample.

Has anyone done this? I'd like to know, because although I'm a bit of a middle-aged technophobe, and can't ever see myself being a user of facebook, I would like to try the freebies! Any advice would be gratefully received. :)

I have a email address & facebook page for freebies/comps.

set up the email address first, if you are with google go to yahoo & use the same email address ie: joeblogs@gmail.com becomes joeblogs@yahoo.co.uk, & use the same password, less confusing, then set up the facebook account with this email address, & the bare minimum that facebook require. You are giving nothing away & if you get spam ( which you will, it does not really matter).
No longer posting on freebies or comps

I'm not so sure about that...especially having just read this:-

So, that'd be your personal stuff, like name , address (for sending sample to), and maybe age, gender etc. etc.!!!!!! Your security is going to be compromised, as far as I'm concerned!!! Just not worth it!!!

Thanks for the facebook advice. No, the reason I am not a member of facebook is because I do not like it, (I could go into why but I wont start as I wont stop). Its more of a stand against it, not wanting to join or support it in any way rather then just wanting to use it for offers. I guess I just end up missing out but always email the company mentioned to lecture them on their choices and how I feel being cut out of the options.

I've done this once so far...to Unilever...but I doubt big companies like them will be borhered, seeing how large their fb pool of people probably is!!!
