Please read the feedback given and you will appreciate how stupid these scores really are!Can I find out my credit score? You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)0

People are poking fun at the scores in these replies.
Read them again, once you see how pointless this silly number is your score will go up to 999,
But it still won't help you get a loan.0 -
My dad pays his gas electric and water rates the day he gets them and he has no credit cards mobile phone contact catalogues and yet he was lent £8000 from Halifax all because he pays his utility bills.
So utility bills can improve your creditI'm not poor i'm just skint0 -
What about his job, income, length of time in the job, length of time at the address, registration on the electoral register, the conduct of his current account (with Halifax?), the status of anybody he's financially linked with... the list goes on! There are many factors, utility bills would be a small oneboogiemaster wrote: »My dad pays his gas electric and water rates the day he gets them and he has no credit cards mobile phone contact catalogues and yet he was lent £8000 from Halifax all because he pays his utility bills.

Saying that, Halifax do seem a little erratic - I'm preapproved for a 5k overdraft, with a £1,350 credit card, as a student! But they wouldn't give me a student account (Max O/D £3000, which nobody ever gets) or a student credit card (Max Credit Limit £500).... but he still wasn't lent 8k "all because he pays his utility bills" otherwise 75% of the country could just go and get 8k - which, reading stories on here, it isn't that easy to do!0 -
Thanks again all

I do realise now that the score is pointless, i was just simply using it as a reference point
e.g. The problems i had with my addresses were holding me back with lenders, and also making my score lower. Hence, using that link, i figure that if i sort out my address problems and send my score in the right direction, my perception as a trustworthy borrower will go up also
I have been on the my loan company and orange today to change over the addresses to my current one. We are going to do the same with my partners phone (on my credit report) when she gets in from work and i am going to the bank straight from work tomorrow to change the address there...hopefully when these are updated onto my credit report i will get more luck in being accepted for loan i am looking for

He's retired and he's lived in his house since the 70s and when mom died in 1990 he transferred the bills into his name.
He's had no credit in his name whatsoever and he just pays his utility bills that's all so that has built his credit rating up for Halifax to give him £8000 loan.
He owns his own house but the house was not put against the loan, He's never been finically linked to anyone.
He's never been late with a payment of missed a bill since mom died in 1990 so the utility bills have built his credit rating up.I'm not poor i'm just skint0 -
Just to let everyone know, all of my details have been updated with my current home address. Once my credit report is updated, i will update you all with my revised score, and if i have any luck with applying for new loans.
With regards to that, how long should i leave it before applying for new loans after i was declined for 3 this month?0 -
