Maid2Clean - Anyone worked for them?

I'm in need of a part time job and had a look at their website, has anyone got any experience working for them?

Am thinking of giving them a call tomorrow so any advice/information greatly appreciated.

I've read a few posts on the forum about them and they seem genuine enough, would be great to hear from someone with experience working for them..

    Thanks anyway :)

    Hi KittyCat1,

I have worked for them in the past. I rang on the Wednesday, a lady came round to check my ID etc on the Thurs and by the Monday I started my first client. I had 5 the first week and the clients all left the cash on the side for when I arrived at their home.
  • youre working on a self employed basis with them , which put me off to be honest.
  • Thanks very much both for the replies.

Louisa, could you tell me a bit more about them please. Are you still with them now? Whats the pay like? Do they provide all the cleaning materials, uniform etc... How near to you are the jobs your given and do you get paid travel allowance? Any information would be great. Thankyou again.

Hi, i'm with them at the mo but i only do 3 hours for them as when they set up in my area there was not much work so i found another part time ironing job that i do as well.

No uniform, you use clients cleaning stuff, you can be asked to do ironing of which i do.

No travel allowance so only take local jobs and work your round to suit your petrol. I get £7 an hour, some areas its less and some more. You have very little contact with them once working. They make about £2 per job off your client.

The cons are that if you worked for yourself could probably earn a bit more but pros are that they cover insurance and if sick or holidays also usually have clients waiting and when you go it alone you have to build up which takes time. I used to go it alone but had to stop for health reasons so this time i went with these as it was more instant.

There are other similar franchises to work for Rocketmaid, Tailormaid, Dolly char, Time4you, those i can think of off the top of my head, but if you google cleaning franchises they will come up and you can usually apply on the website in your area and it has lots of info about what to expect.

    HTH :)

as clairibel said there is no uniform and the households supply the cleaning equipment (no bleach allowed). I am not with them anymore as I did it whilst I was a part time nanny and had my own business but took on another job from home so I could be here to answer emails/calls for my business.

I think it was £6.30 per hour and each one was usually 2-3hrs so i use to do one from 9am and one after lunch then finished at 2.30 to pick the children up from school. Think i earnt about £70 in my first week and over £100 in my second week but obviously you need to consider petrol from one house to the next to consider how much you will 'earn'.

I live in Milton Keynes and all the houses were in Milton Keynes that I did.
  • Thanks both. Thats helped alot.

Is the client there when you clean,or can you ask to be a key holder.

Also, which way does it work,do you go with someone from maid2clean to be introduced to the clients or...

I'm the keyholder for mine and shes out but is a teacher so has hols but always goes out for me to clean but we chatted about all this stuff when i went to meet her and see what she wanted doing. I even went when they went on holiday and did jobs i don't normally do like fridge, windows etc, but its upto you and your client.

I wasn't taken by maid2clean, i went on my own to initial visit to client to get the keys and instructions :) maybe different in different areas though.
