i got a really good wireless all in one epsom one from asda for about £50 and it was originally about £125 the week before in tesco. There are 4 cartridges which mix to make all the colours (blue, pink, yellow and black) and you can buy them in medium for about 25 quid or large for about 45-50 but you can get them individually so if it's only the black thats run out or the blue you can get them on their own. I think it is sx425d
Also, the Hp Wireless all in one 3050 at tesco was over half price at about 40 quid and their inks are a bit larger than normal ones so last longer...that one looked really good to, thats on the tesco direct website.0 -
If you go for the Epson, the SX515W has a better scanner and cheaper compatible inks

Not sure about which printer to buy as its not the sort of thing I have looked into for some time, but as long as you can refill the ink cartridges, any printer can be cheap for inks! I tend to buy my ink refills of ebay, no fav sell for them, just have a look to see who has it cheapest at the time

I have the HP Photosmart B110 Series, it is quote reliable and does the job well. The print quality is outstanding. But it does crash with a printing error if you don't use it enough and start it up after a dormant period. The cartridges are quite prices too.0

PCPro recommends the Canon. HP have had problems recently with their paper feeds. Epson are cheap, but aren't in my opinion a touch on Canon (but there are many satisfied users out there).
Amazon has the MG6150 for under £100. Generic cartridges are availbale - don;t recommend the very cheap one's, they can block printheads of any printer eventually - Try the mid range cartridges, cost effective and do a reasonable job. I've never found refilling successful - I even once put the wrong colour into the wrong one! This kind of messed up the print head, took a while to clean it up. Doh!0 -
I wonder how the photo output is with a printer that only uses three colours0
