We recently attended the Horsham do on a sunday, tickets stated gates open at 9am. Myself, friend and our 5 children arrived at 9.45 am. After patiently queuing for close to two hours we entered the sealed off enclosure. When we tried to enter the live and deadly show tent we were told all the wristbands had run out. Security were very rude and said tickets had stated limited space. This was true but they could have come out too the massive queue outside and informed us that we would not be able to see steve and his show. They even berated my six year old for trying to peer through a crack in the tent as she tried to catch a glimpse of steve.
So they has to listen to the show which some young 'uns found a bit upsetting. Steve didn't even do a brief lap of honour or wave or anything for the thousand of children who had queued for hours to get in with their e tickets under the mistaken belief they would see his show. I think if they had just at least seen the man himself, however fleetingly, it might have made up for the rest of it.0 -

We also attended the Live N Deadly at Horsham and had an amazing day. If you look online they decided to ticket the shows this year due to the huge number of people turning up last year due to Steve Backshall being such an idol for kids - they estimate around 10,000 turned up on Saturday. Although the tickets state the gates open at 9am it is clearly going to be very busy. We turned up at 8.30am and had to queue for an hour. We did not get into the first live show but made it into the 11am show. It does clearly state on the FAQ email sent to you re the show that you may not get to see Steve B so we had prewarned the children and tried to lower expectations just in case. We found the BBC staff to be very helpful - they did come along the queue to us and explained what was going on.
Also there were lots of other things going on. The birds of prey demonstration with Naomi Wilkinson was excellent and open to all - on at 1pm and 3pm. We also loved the nature tent with local groups and all sorts of animals from beautiful snakes to ferrets. They had the Deadly Art tent where you could do a doodle, the climbing wall amongst others.
Yes, the queues were long but if you are going to go to an event like this you have to expect it and come prepared with drinks/snacks, packed lunch etc.
We all had a fantastic day and would recommend going to anyone else near to the tour.

We been allocated tickets for sunday 16th at Conkers.
Do we get access to Conkers or just to the Deadly live area as BBC did'nt have a clue when i rang them today just said it would be in a fenced off area0 -
This would be ticketed like any TV show, they give out over the number of tickets needed to fill the seats and then its first come, first seen. I would arrive at about 7.00 - 7.30, fully prepared for a wait in a queue to be sure of a seat / viewing.0

I attended this event in Glasgow with 3 kids, and must admit, it was quite rubbish. The kids thought so too. The queues were all very long. After waiting over an hour for the climbing wall, we had to give up to get into the live show, which was good, but very cramped. The other tents all had big queues too. The tickets were free, but we wont be bothering in the future.0
