This weekend over 300 buildings across Northern Ireland will be opening their doors for free as part of European Heritage Open Days (EHOD).
This is a once a year chance to discover hidden architectural treasures and enjoy a wide range of tours and events that bring our history and culture to life.
Last year over 56,500 people in Northern Ireland visited a range of properties during the weekend, many of which are closed to the public throughout the rest of the year.
With over 300 buildings open this weekend there is something for everyone including:

The atmospheric Harland and Wolff Drawing Offices where over 1700 ships were designed including RMS Titanic and Olympic.

A chance to operate signalling equipment and send messages by Morse Code at Headhunters Railway Museum, Enniskillen.

St. Columb’s Cathedral, Londonderry, the oldest building within the walled city.

An opportunity to meet the Miller at Ballycopeland Windmill and find out how he turned grain into flour, see how a windmill works and how it relates to today’s search for alternative energy sources.

Dunluce Castle which will be brought to life by medieval musicians and storytellers.

A walking tour of Torrent Valley including the early Christian cross in Donaghmore and the ruins of the seventeenth century Castle Caulfield.

Milford House Museum in County Armagh. Milford House is the former seat of the McCrum family, one of Ireland's premier linen manufacturing dynasties. The museum is presented as a welcoming family home packed with McCrum family possessions.
