  • When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Morning everyone hope you all have a lovely day!

Today's list:
  • check banking/ emails
  • car share to work
  • all meals from stores
  • try to have a NSD
  • sort through paperwork later
  • do an ironing
  • scrub the bathroom
  • go to bank
Have an mse day everyone :)

    Hi guys

Hope everyone has a lovely rainy day :)

Stitchy - big :T on paying off the loan!
Tebheag - I hope it works out with your job :grouphug:

    Me:
    • Submitted overtime form - missed cut off but you never know...
    • Rescued a £2 coin from hubby's change ;)
    • Lunch to work
    • Tea from stores
    • Finish off knitting project
    • Resisted buying more yarn before my current stash is used up!

Had a bit of a spend yesterday - 2 pairs of shoes - both v needed and one was planned but then I saw a right bargain I couldn't refuse :o - tkmax specials - £80 walking shoes for £24.99!! (My last pair have lasted since 2005 so I'm happy with £24.99 for the next 6 years ;)) The other ones were £40, but I figured £65 for both pairs was a good deal ;)
  • Good morning all you DFWers. It's a very wet and soggy morning here in wet Wiltshire, but nothing can dampen my mood today. I've just logged onto internet banking and my loan account definately says NIL. I don't know why I thought it would have changed overnight, but I'm glad it hasn't. :D

    So far today:
    • HM granola for breakfast
    • made DH a packed lunch for work
    • checked banking
    • checked for surveys
    • fed and watered the chickens
    • boxed 2x half dozen eggs to sell
    I will also:
    • got a delivery due at 8am from our local charity furniture warehouse - a beautiful pine shelf for my kitchen. Cheap furniture and helping out a charity too :A
    • get a lift to and from work as it's raining VERY hard
    • free coffee at work
    • get paid for the eggs
    • keep an eye on surveys throughout the day
    • being treated to coffee at a cafe for lunch, hopefully will extend to a sandwich too
    • taking snacks to work
    • take something out of freezer for dinner
    • rejig budget now there's extra monies available
    • have an NSD
    • go through my 101 things in 1001 days list to see what I can do this month :)
That'll do for today I think. Looking forward to my 'Grandma Day' tomorrow.

Thank you those who gave me hugs (makes me laugh how they look) and wishes
Thanks for starting us of Ixia
Well done Stitching witch on getting rid of such a big loan.

So far today checked for jobs checked bank and checked surveys
As for the job trying to see if at all possible to just take a break and stay at home for a while as costs so much in childcare(roughly £9 a working hour !!!) never mind travel my son starts school next year so make a big diff to childcare as only have one to pay for.
Managed to get to just £150 short so not bad after speaking to bank and finding could be possible to go on to interest only payment. Wish we had stayed on variable would be ok instead paying £250 a month more !!)

Today after checking spreadsheets had forgotten that nursery in arrears and got to give months notice work stopped straight away going to call bank and sort to go on interest only now!
Photograph items to go on ebay and list.
Make spag bol using my own tomatoes any tips only every used tin tomatoes !!
Go to docs today see why i am so tired scared if they question me as so emotional will prob be in tears
    Take kids to nursery
Sort heating keeps saying 21 in house but feels colder still keeping heating off
Need to sort scottish power not had info through just paid last bill to edf.
    Take kids to nursery
Wash beeding my girl split her bottle all over her cot last night going to be fun drying it as no heating on and raining out side lol

Hope you all have a good day x
