STUDIO CARDS - Late Payment charge ?
Comments

I don't think you can pay outright for goods from Studio though.. they put it into your account balance and send you statements asking you to pay the minimum amount or as much as you want over that.
I don't see the problem in paying the amount in installments no matter what it is for if that is what someone wants to do!
Its basically a credit account, but they do not charge you interest on the items you have bought! So if they actually did not deny receiving payments there would be no problem whatsoever, and that is the issue here, not which choices a person who can make their own decisions chooses to do!!
I used Studio to buy some pressies before xmas and had no probs btw, I just returned the slip with my bank details on it and job done.
Although I dont like sending those details in the post and I dont think they should do that! An online payment service would be ideal, but they seem to still be living in jurassic times. :rotfl:0 -
Good point dbonbon, but try tell that to small children doesnt work.
I have had a few a late payment charges from these people too. but after reading about claiming back charges in another part of the forum, i sent them a letter asking for these charges back, and had £100 taken of bill, leaving £30 to pay.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
This is my first post and I'm a bit disappointed that two users seem to have a problem with someone using credit for £40. Not everyone has spare money and sometimes they have to budget for things - yes things like xmas trees.
I too have had a £20 charge on a bill of £30 but I called Studio and complained and they removed the charge.0 -
neilwoods - If the kids were really concerned about a tree then taking them out into a cold, wet & muddy wood where they could cut a real one down themselves would be more beneficial and teach them about the environment. Get permission first though.
Mandymoo72 - I think most people would be understanding if the budgeting was for daily food or gas/electric but alot of the stuff associated with Christmas isn't needed and is more because people think they need it to proove something. Caz1965 - that isn't directed at you before anyone jumps on me!
This year I bought a basic fake tree for 50p in a local Charity shop - nothing wrong with it and it will last me for a good few years.
Studio is and always will be one of those companies who you have to watch like a hawk if you do buy something. You just have to read the other horror stories on this site to see that.
Oh and after all that - welcome to to MSE Mandymoo72!0 -
Yeah thats good advice Choc, cut a tree down to teach about enviroment, great contradiction in terms there.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0

I'm fighting with them just now - I paid it through my bank before Christmas - then I got a call from my bank after New Year saying they didn't accept the payment, as they don;t take payments digitally.
In the meantime I have received another statement from them adding the £20 charge on. I phoned them up and authorised them to take the original amount in full, but not the chargeas I was refusing to pay this. The oeprator said I would need to as it was my fault it didn't go through, as somewhere in amongst the small print it says you can't pay through your bank (despite the fact they give you a sort code and account number to do just that)
Got put thru to a manager, but gave up after hanging on listening to music for about 15 minutes. Have written to them instead, we shall see what happens - I refuse to pay that £20I have no more money to give - all you companies out there - do your worst - I give in!!0 -

...strange... I know it doesn't give an option to pay through your bank, but I still do - the post office or your local bank branch (if you use them) would use their account and sortcode information to electronically transfer the cash that you had paid in.
I've always done it by BACS via my internet bank as sending cheques off was just hassle as I never use them for anything else! I'll keep an eye on my statement....
Basically the company (like many out there) is great, as long as nothing goes wrong, then you are pretty much at the hands of some customer service agent who couldn't give two figs if you lived or died.0 -

But when you receive your statement you pay that off in one go ... I think thats what they meant.Leanne200 wrote:Its basically a credit account, but they do not charge you interest on the items you have bought!
If I remember correctly, they DO charge an admin fee / service charge or something on the amount outstanding each month ...0
