Firstly I'm not sure where this should go but I thought this could be regarded as moneysaving so this could be the best place for it, sorry if not.
I've decided with the New Year I'm going to get things sorted I've just been putting off for no reason and 2 of these are companies asking for payment, I'll explain both in greater detail so I can find out how to handle the situation.
Situation 1
I stupidly signed up to Brittania CD/DVD club when I was younger, I did buy the minimum amount over the 2 year period but they kept sending them out, I foolishly didn't cancel the account and eventually when I sent a bundle back to them they claimed not to have recieved the parcel and are therefore trying to get me to pay for the CD's/DVD's. I am obviously not willing to pay as I sent them back at the post office and even got proof of postage. Is there anyway I can get through to them and they will drop the charges? Someone I know claimed they had been charged for many CD's/DVD's and didn't pay and eventually it just went away
Situation 2
I had a contract phone with 3, I lost my job and was therefore unable to pay for a few months, they wouldn't let me cancel until I had paid the balance so I had to get a loan from my mum to pay the balance and immediately phoned up to cancel, all seemed well until I recieved another letter claiming I now owed them money again and it seems they didn't actually cancel the contract when I phoned up. Again I'm just trying to find out the best way to get out of the situation, they'll be able to see on their system that I've not used the phone for 3 months before I made the final payment and for them to try charging me more is stupid.
I think this is a bit rushed but i'm trying to rush this as I have several other things to get sorted and I want to have no worries come the end of January.
Cheers

an update today, i have recieved a letter threatening legal action if i do not pay the britannia debt within 10 days. Now this is a letter but no-one has signed for it, am I right in thinking this is just a threat as they have no way of guaranteeing that I actually recieved the letter, do you not have to sign for things if it really is intended.
It also says the debt is not in dispute but it clearly is, any advice would be welcome0 -
well mabie if u egnore them and rip up the letters and stuff they might just go away. just a thought tho:p0
