civil ceremony wedding vows

Hi, can anyone who has had a civil ceremony tell me about the wedding vows?

Ive got the checklist from the Registrar and have to pick options a,b or c for the declaration , the contracting words and for the rings.

If we wanted to write and say a few 'vows' of our own to each other when do we say them? at the contracting words or when we exchange rings?
Thanks for help!!

In addition to the legal declaration bit, which has the 3 options you'll have been given, you can have the 'standard' vows which is the 'til death us do part' bit or write your own. We're planning to write our own. You can also put readings in as well - we're planning on having 2. You'll meet with your registrar a few weeks before the wedding and can get all the details sorted then, but you could always just try ringing and asking; our registrar is lovely and approachable
