We are getting married in Greece and paying for 12 people, as we need to sort out deposits quite soon for the hotel and wedding organiser, we would like some help and information on wether we should pay in Euros or sterling on our credit card. :money:

If you are paying a greek bill in greece, which is quoted in Euros, then in 99% of cases you should pay in Euros. It will be exchanged into sterling by your credit card company. In most cases the rate used by the credit card company will be better than the rate used by hotels etc.
We got very burnt on a trip in Egypt. We let them convert the amount into sterling, and then ran it through the machine. The rate they used was terrible - I think we payed almost 40% more than the proper cost for the trips. Still annoys me! So, either be very careful with the rate the hotel uses, or just pay in the local currency.0 -
