Solar PV Panels - Conveyancing

Hi,

I have read the threads on this but didn't see any specific mention of this, so if this is mentioned somewhere please point me in the right direction.

EcoVision have surveyed our roof and sent the pack with the legal details so assuming our roof is all good we can go ahead. However, they recommend using a conveyancer. I did ask one solicitor I found via the Law Society web site but they hadn't done any and said cost may be £350-£400 - well if we save £100 a year it takes 4 years to pay for the conveyancing charge.

So I guess I have a few questions.

1. Has anyone used conveyancing for a Solar PV fit?
2. How much did it cost?
3. If you didn't use conveyancing, why not?

Has anyone got their EcoVision system fitted yet?
April 2008 - Epiphany - At least £28K owed to 5 CC's
March 2026 - 4 years left on Mortgage. 2 credit cards, fully controlled.

i did not use a conveyancer because when i looked at the contracts from all of the companys i applied to i could see that it was not going to be any good for me as the buy out price was going to include paying them for all of the remaining FITs

    so not a good deal.
also i could see problems if i needed to sell my house.
so in the end i bought them my self and now i get the FIT.
