Would love to know before they sell out of them - don't suppose they'll last long at that price!

not sure how comparable but I just picked up a Morphy Richards breadmaker from amazon for £35.37 (well £33 something with my NUS discount) It makes 1lb loafs and also had dough, whole meal, basic and fast bake settings. No timer so you can't see how long left or delay it starting to make the bread but it is perfect as there is just 2 of us. The bread it produces is very tasty and perfectly cooked. Also made pizza dough last night, much nice than takeaway and so much cheaper. Even OH has sworn off shop bought bread and pizza!

I bought the breadmaker from Lidl £34.99 and it has worked really well. Not too impressed with recipe from booklet it was too dry. The double paddles mean that you get a loaf shaped loaf with slices the normal size and the dough seems to get a good kneading swinging between the two paddles. The first three loaves all fine and each one better than the last but the fourth was perfect. Well risen and light. Now I feel ready to tackle more interesting recipes. Just waiting for my 100 things to do with breadmaker to arrive!0

Yes, I'm pleased with it so far.
Kneads/proves very well to create a good dough.
Not sure about the knead paddles being left in the loaf though,
think I might pause it before the bake stage and then get the dough out and remove the paddles, then put the dough back for the bake.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
I baked one loaf taking the paddles out after second knead and that also left biggish holes as the spindles aren't non stick so some bread stuck to them.0

Perhaps a bit of grease on the spindles may help.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

We've now taken the plunge & bought one; not used it yet though, & slightly bemused by the note in the recipe book that says: 'To achieve a better baking result, prepare the dough with a mixer. Then place the finished dough in the baking mould.' I've emailed Lidl to say (politely) !!!!!!?

Considering it was a first attempt, a wholemeal loaf came out really well, so certainly on first showing I'd recommend it. And if it goes wrong, there's always the 3 year guarantee . . .0
