Jumper stetched.. again

Options
Acidently put a Cashmere jumper though the wast at 30 degrees. Made it go fluffy - very annoying.

Eventually I got persuded to buy another.

This time I bought from Marks and Sparks, checked the label and bought Merino and a half price cheaper.

The label said it would be ok in the washing machine at 40 degrees so I put it in at 30 just to be safe.

When it came out it wasn't fluffy - great! ... but as I lifted it up I relised it had stretched by half a foot!

I thought I made a point of saving the reciept this time... but can't find it! !

Can you help me out?

If you're sure you washed it correctly, then take it back. If you paid with a debit card or a credit card take your statement with you, but otherwise as all M and S clothes are own brand, you will be fine. They may try and fob you off with a credit voucher, but you are entitled to a refund as the goods are faulty (in that they got ruined when you followed their care instructions) The only problem I can foresee is that if you paid in cash, and the goods are now in the sale, they may only give you the sale value as you won't be able to prove you bought at full price.

Hold on a little while longer and go through your bag again. Receipts have an uncanny knack of getting lodged in the weirdest of places! Good luck!

Do you mean you bought it in the sale? If so, there is no problem because you will get back what you paid, provided you take it back before they do a second round of reductions. If you bought it pre-sale, then you may lose a little. You could hold on for a day or two to see if receipt does turn up, but I wouldn't leave it too long in case they reduce again, in which case you'll lose even more.

However, if you like the jumper, you could just do a straight exchange, and hope your replacement washes a bit more successfully
