im in a dilema
Bride - White dress
Groom, ushers and pageboys - Black tailcoat, white shirt, ivory wasitcoat
flowergirls - white
ive heard ivory makes white look yellowy, so do i change my dress and the flowergirl dresses to ivory as i want the groomsmen to stay in ivory waistcoats
or can ivory and white actually work?

i would have thought it would be the other way around, that white makes ivory look yellowy? it depends how dark the ivory is, if its a darker one it could look discoloured but if its quite light it would work like this white shirt, ivory waistcoat combo

they are the sets i have for my page boys and they do look ok but i have just put them next to white flowergirl dresses and now have this little dilema. im just now thinkin about my dress and will it look awful next to the ivory.
think im going to have to go back in the shop, take my FG dresses and pageboy outfit and have a look!!Married my amazing hubby on 8th September 2012 :j:j0 -
In my opinion I don't think it'd matter having a white dress and ivory waistcoats... I imagine the only time you will be photographed beside them will be for the formal shots when they will have their coats on acting as a barrier anyway. Plus if your happy for them to have a white shirt next to the ivory - why aren't you happy to have a white dress?
I just wanted to add another dimension - if you have chosen a white dress I'm imagining part of the reason it looked so fab on you was the colour. My dress is an extremely pale ivory it might as well be white. All the yellowy ivory coloured dresses I tried on just did nothing for my skin colouring - made me look really washed out, where as the white made me sparkle. (If that makes sense!). So while you may be tempted to get an ivory dress to match your groomsmen - it might then actually make you look not as good (or even bad).... besides colour matching ivory I can imagine would be a complete nightmare there are so many different shades of it!!0
