New savings/current account

I currently have a current account & an e-Savings account with first direct. As everybody now knows, they wish to charge people for using it if they do not have sufficient funds in the accounts. As I am unemployed & I only use these accounts for easy acces savings I wish to change who I bank with. I was hoping somebody could give me some direction as to who to go with, as theer seems to be so many different banks/building societys etc these days. I was very happy with first direct & am looking for something similar. A current account with no minimum or maximum balances, a debit card with cheque book & a high interest savings account with no minimum balance. To view this all on line would also be great. Any idea's folks?

I'd post seperate posts in the current account and savings sub forums. You'll get more responses

I will say that getting a debit card with no job may be a problem. But i'm no expert!0 -
I thought that First Direct only charged £10 per month for customers who did not have another account. If you are happy with First Direct contact them first to find out if this is not the case.I am desperate for acceptance, please hit the 'thanks' button.0
