how long before i should receive p45

I was made redundant from my job and finished work on the 27th July. I am still waiting for my p45. I have e-mailed the company several times and i have been told it is being processed by pay roll. They use an external company.

You usually receive it with your final payslip.
I don't believe there is a specific timescale, the HMRC guidance says you should receive it as soon as possible.

Q. Is there a time limit for issuing P45s?

A. You must send Part 1 of the P45 to the PAYE tax office, or online immediately or as soon as possible after the last pay date. Parts 1A, 2 & 3 should be given to the employee as soon as possible.
If you are an employment agency you should issue the P45 on termination of the contract or if the employee has not received any relevant payments from you within a three month period, whichever is the earlier.

Thanks for that. I have always received them before with final payslip which was a month ago.
