Really need to brighten up our lounge and i was wondering can anyone suggest anywhere online that does silk/dried flowers that don't cost the earth? We don't have a Dunelm Mill near us otherwise that would have been my first point of call...
The other thing is our Standard lamp or floor lamps as i think they're now called is on it's last legs can anyone suggest a place to buy floor lamps relatively cheaply? Our last one was Ikea but we don't live near one anymore.
Thanks in advance.

Why don't you try a request on Freecycle for a standard lamp (showing my age here). Car boot sales are worth checking out too as a first call for anything really - people often change their colour schemes and offload everything that doesn't fit in with their new look.0 -

Thanks, we're really looking for two standard lamps (they were always standard lamps to me! lol) so i'm not sure somebody would have two to give away though we could give it a whirl thanks. We used to have two but the moving company broke one last year and i don't think you can buy replacement shades for the Ikea ones as i heard they weren't standard UK sizes (to be honest i find the Ikea lamps were always a bit dull no matter what bulb you put in it) . We have a lovely lounge and dining area at the back but it can be a bit dark in winter as it only has a window at one end especially if you're using the dining table area end iyswim.
I only know of one big boot sale here and that's only on during the winter months. Maybe worth hanging on a bit.0 -

Sorry dont know about the flowers, but have you tried google? google.co.uk/search?sclient=psy&hl=en&biw=1165&bih=680&noj=1&source=hp&q=cheap+silk+dried+flowers&btnG=Search&tbs=search%3Fsourceid%3Dnavclient&lr=&as_filetype=&oq=cheap+silk+dried+flowers&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&gs_sm=s&gs_upl=0l0l0l5443l0l0l0l0l0l0l0l0ll0l0
For the lamps, Ikea do deliver dont they? Also dont forget to have a look for promo codes/free delivery codes from them, and I think they are on topcashback.co.uk too so that could get you some more money backFirst time buyer (part rent part buy) Dec 2012- Already changed to lowest energy bill supplier - got water meter fitted and looking for more money saving tips!

Delivery is £15, probably more for us as the nearest one is over 150 miles away. I don't think we would qualify for free delivery....
Tried Google but would prefer personal recommendations.;)0 -

For delivery, you could have a look at using shiply.com
Other then that, play.com have always been quite cheap (one of the cheapest IMO) for most electrical's I have bought and free delivery of everything! So they might be worth having a look at, + you can get cash back from topcashback.co.uk with play.com and ebay, which might be worth another check as products are added dailyFirst time buyer (part rent part buy) Dec 2012- Already changed to lowest energy bill supplier - got water meter fitted and looking for more money saving tips!
