I'm been a bit of a bad moneysaver over the past couple of months. Since I changed jobs around october (unfrotunately for now it's only 30 hrs so wage has gone kerplunk! but may go up to f/t possibly due to 'organisational changes'!) I've kind of lost the money saving high I had since last march and my paying back has slowed right down due to them taking an extra £100 off me in december without warning and christmas, although I did that on a budget so didn't go mad!.
Had a little reminder today of the glory of being a proactive mse-er! So starting next month (when I have actual money again!) I'm going for it full tilt boogie! I joined AQA and registered as self-employed last summer but it didn't really work out for me and I dropped out of it. Earned about £20 and owed £40 in NI contributions! I've been putting off ringing the HMRC people because I should have paid that bill before christmas and didn't want a telling off. In the end a lovely lady there closed my accounts, told me the approx updated bill figure and said they'd send it out. No muss, no fuss! In fact it only took two minutes (and seventeen seconds obviously!) What a relief, I was a bit scared to say the least.
Just goes to show taking the bull by the horns with these things really pays off for you mentally and emotionally! So one NY resolution I'll try and keep is to hang round the MSE boards regularly again and get myself back into good habits! Must get some up to date figures for my signature and see how far off track I've got!
