    Hello there and welcome

Lots of users have DMPs with CCCS and Payplan. If you do a search on the forum, you should come up with lots of information.

Are you thinking of going for one? If you are, they are the best people to go with. Feel free to post your statement of affairs on here and we will try to help if possible.

    Take care!

  • Never been with them but they still get a glowing reference from me.

I don't think I've heard a bad word about them. Maybe the only downside is the time it takes to get a telephone appointment (around 3 weeks ish) but it's only because they are so busy! :)

    Give 'em a call! ;)
  • I'll add my praise for the CCCS - they got me out of trouble and were friendly, helpful and non-judgemental. They recommended that I go bankrupt, which I did, and I feel as if they saved my life.

Good Luck to you - you'll find all the help and support you need on here - I know I did.

I am on a DMP with CCCS I did it on the internet and so it was qiucker than waiting for the phone interview. I have since phoned them several times due to various queries and they have always been most helpful without making me feel a failure. I started my DMP on 1st jan 2007 so only one payment but all of my creditors bar one ( Citicards) have stopped telephoning and if that should start again I now have the confidence and know how to deal with them. good luck x

Just another glowing report of CCCS. I've been on a DMP with CCCS for over 3 years. Started off with about £55k of debt to pay off, now down to under £40k and steadily increasing the amount of money I pay into the DMP.

CCCS have been invaluable in both sorting out the initial stuff with creditors ie helping me to pull together a sound and realistic monthly income and expenditure. When you do this with them they will explain to you about both the importance of budgeting and also the need to be realistic about your budget as you may be living to it for a period of time. So there is some lea way for things such as a limited social life, buying clothes, having your hair cut, etc. I was so nervous about having these in the budget when we were drawing it up (felt that I had had no social life for months - and all we are taking about here is a budget allowance of buttons per month - that it would be sooooo cheeky to put it into a budget). Thought that creditors would read it and throw it straight back at me. However, they explained that I was going to have to live on the budget for several years, so it had to be realistic.

The other way that CCCS were really helpful was in providing advice and support when things come up. With the best will in the world, some of the creditors might try to wind you up from time to time. They might send you letters threatening this or that, they might call you up trying to rattle your cage - having someone who knows all the tricks of the trade to provide you with support and advice (even just calm you down) is so helpful.
  • Hi there,

This is also my first post and am just as nervous and it's not just about posting my first post. I've just read on Martins web site to stay away from debt free companies that advertise on TV. Unfortunately my partner and I have recently entered into an IVA with debt free direct, now I feel it would have been better for me to go down the bankruptcy route but am to nervous to ring them. They started off very helpful then became less and less so the closer it got to the actually entering into it. Eventually when i rang to query some paperwork before signing anything they just said "well it's to late to change anything now!"

Should I declare voluntary bankruptcy and go it alone.

In anticipation of some sane advice
