Ebay listing fee free weekend 3rd and 4th Sept

I just received a message on Ebay that this weekend, for private sellers, up to 100 items can be listed free of insertion fees, for items over £1.

I have been a private ebay seller and buyer for over 7 years,
But the ebay free listing days just dont work any more as well as they should!
Saturday 3rd September was a free listing day and I listed about 30 items in total. Today 4th September is also a free listing day and i have about 50 items left i wish to list, BUT surprise suprise today ebay has TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES, so a lot of ebayers will have trouble listing anything, on top of that you can not see your watch list so if you were watching an item to make a bid on today forget it!
:( I feel sorry for all those ebay-sellers whom had items endding today, as not many will get on there accounts properly to be able to make a bid on them!!!!
I have tried calling ebay and the estimated time in which your call will be answered will be 64 mins...........lol
So i tried to chat to a agent on line which took over 25 mins before i got an agent then when the agent come on chat they just typed this.................... (then left before i could ask a question)

Welcome to eBay Live Help, my name is Oliver. We are currently facing technical difficulties, our technical team is already working on to get it resolved. I'd request you to please contact us again after some time so that we can assist you with your question or concern.

IS EBAYS FREE LISTING PARTLY A SCAM???
Ebay knows that ebayers will get the items ready by sorting them out and taking the photos of the items so that once ebays technical difficulties have been sorted on MONDAY 5th September ebayers will list them anyway and ebay gets more money out of us ebayers yet again!!??????:(

THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN NEARLY EVERY FREE LISTING WEEKEND!

I'm not sure you are using the same ebay as the rest of us, there are occasional glitches but for me there is no issue today affecting either of my seller accounts or my buying account. There was a short glitch earlier reported on the community boards but certainly not enough to warrant an accusation of scam.

Can't recall a glitch on any of the recent FLW s either.

I have just checked my e-Bay account & I've only been charged the final value fees for the sales from the free listing week.
I listed 38 items without problems.

I avoid free listing weekends like the plague.
I had 2 identical items to sell, so listed 1 on a FLW and the other 2 weeks later. I got 3x the price for the one listed later. The trouble with FLW is that all the dodgy business sellers use their multitude of private seller accounts to then list their inventor for free and you end-up with more carp for sale thus putting people off.
    Never Knowingly Understood.

I do tend to agree, free listing seems to bring out all the no hope stuff and it is worth watching prices both during and after to see if your item is affected.
