Card tarting?

I want to tart around £400 onto a 0% interest or as low as possible for the next 4 or 5 months till i can pay it off but as im a student with a part-time (but well paid) job, not a homeowner how can i know which cards to choose that im likely to be accepted by?

I currently have a platinum barclaycard, a bank credit card and a marbles card. B'card i have paid off from £3500 and my limit (which im up to) is now £500, Marbles will have about £450 and the bank credit card will have £37. I want to clear the Marbles card as my interest free is ending and i cant afford the 23% they will charge! I am closing the others with money from my savings account and ive taken another part-time job to get the £400 cleared asap so i can start saving again.

Any comments/ideas very welcome.
Thanks

Hi Pandapants - I'm not the best to answer this question for you, but I'll just give you what I know and hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge will be along soon.
In my experience the instant you mention 'student' a lot of doors close - but whe I worked 'part time' and that was on my forms I seemed better able to get credit. Admitedly I wasn't a student at that time, but I'm not sure whether you would be in the wrong to state that you work part time as opposed to having to put student??? As I say, I'm not 100% sure on whether doing this is correct or not - I'm sure someone will soon clarify.

Ps - another consideration is to contact your current companies and tell them that you are considering shifting your balance, can they give you a better deal. This usually works best if you are/have been paying more than the minimum ammount.

Thanks Kaz. Ive been switching the debt between 2 cards, getting rates from 4.9% to 6% with a 2% transfer fee. I think ill just pay the whole lot off at once, even though it will leave me skint for the rest of the month!
