Getting coats/suits made

Options
Hello,

Firstly, i'm not sure this is the right area, so if not please move me along.

I have decided to look into getting items like coat, suits madetomeasure for myself. Working on the premises I will get something I really like and wear it to death, than to get something I kinda like and only rarely wear it.
I think coats and suits work out at the best value.

So what I need to know, does anyone know of tailors for women, who does this kind of thing. Ideally based in London, Leeds or York?

I'm not sure how it would work, but I would produce the pattern and material.

Any tips or pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks

Susanna

  • This site is the highly informative blog of a Savile Row tailor: English Cut. I don't think he does ladies' suits, but there is a huge amount of information - fabrics, choosing a tailor, pricing, style, cuts - presented in an accessible style.

Scroll down a bit and look on the right hand side for the FAQ.

    Good Luck!

I've only had a suit made once and that was made by my ex-husbands tailor. Normally he only got to make army uniforms so he was quite happy to do something different.
