I thought it was just me who thought every peice of operating software is slower and less reliable than the last, as well as full of needless changes which takes years to re-learn.

Perhaps this really does explain why!

    Gaming graphics - 4.3

If that is so - just what the hell were they on when they "designed" Vista ??

Perhaps Bob Wallace left behind a large stock of Psychedelic drugs?

Horse tranquilisers were behind Windows Me.
  • You want to be a poor s0d like me who has to support it and users over the phone.

Really, it is redisigned on the lets make it as difficult to do a task as possible theory. Everything is moved just for the sake of it. Very few guenuine improvements.

Windows 7 - definitly NOT my idea.

    - tranquillisers, that explains it then :D

WinME I used to say it stands for Windows Memory Eater, almost all machines built had to have hand written scripts inserted into the O/S to give the memory back when you closed an application.

Ahhhhh , the days of windows on a big machine with a massive 128 Mbytes of RAM

Windows ME was designed by software designers who suffered partial comas whilst high on crack cocaine, Windows Vista similar but while on magic mushrooms and depressants (accidentally instead of antidepressants)

Win7 was by people who like to change things around but at least they were off the drugs most of the time.

From reading opinions of Win 7 users ever since it was released I got the impression that it was well received, making a change from the usual complaints of 'if it ain't broke then don't fix it".
Perhaps I should stick to Winxp after all....

Windows 7 was the logical progression from XP, but it only makes sense to upgrade if you do a lot of high performance work or want to use newer hardware - simply because the 64bit version is far better supported than XP 64bit. Plus it's just nicer to use.

Slower yes. Less reliable? Sorry you're wrong.

There is a reason that every new release is slower. It is because more and more is put in to cater for the thickos who buy computers nowadays. Once upon a time you needed a modicum of technical knowledge to have and use one. Nowadays any drooling Jeremy Kyle show reject can use one as these forums amply demonstrate.

There are questions asked on these forums that would never ever have seen the light of day 15 years ago because people who used computers back then had functioning brains and were capable of doing their own research. Nowadays it would appear the keyboard mashing baboons can't even use Google judging by some of the asinine rubbish asked in here.
